Evaporation-induced self-assembly of gold nanorods on a hydrophobic substrate for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy applications

The controllable assembly of plasmonic nanoparticles has developed as one the most significant approaches for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) applications. This study a simple approach to improve large-scale ordered gold nanorods (GNRs) by controlling droplet evaporation mode on hydrophobic substrates. substrate was efficiently produced spin coating silicone oil onto glass slides and annealing them. analyte molecule rhodamine (R6G) employed surface-enhanced scattering probe demonstrate potential effects synthesized arrays. platform enables concentration delivery molecules into sensitive site while suppressing coffee ring effect generated smooth contraction motion base contact radius without any pinning. Thus, limit detection (LOD) R6G lowered 10 −10 M homogenous dispersion hotspots within self-assembly reproducible signal. new method broad range packing patterns mechanisms changing host in dispersion.
